Students from Maikop Completed an Internship in Moscow Supported by the Association of Parks
From May 20 to May 31, students from the FSBEI of Higher Education «Maikop State Technological University» underwent practical training in Moscow parks. Supported by the Association for the Development of Urban Parks and Public Spaces, introductory and applied programs had been prepared for the group: students majoring in Landscape Architecture, Construction, Agronomy and Land Management and Cadastres visited excursions, thematic walking tours and exhibitions, as well as joined the practical «in the field» training.
Internship at VDNKh
On May 22, a student group of 15 people visited VDNKh: students and teachers were told about the concept of the site, showed the main attractions, including fountains, exhibition pavilions, «Buran» interactive museum complex, Crafts Park and other public spaces.
Internship in Tsaritsyno
On May 23 and 24, students spent time at the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve. On the first day, the team of the park organized a thematic tour «History of the Formation of the Architectural and Landscape Ensemble of the Tsaritsyno Museum» and discussed with students the problems of recreational load and legislative barriers in the restoration of the space historical appearance. The walking tour ended at the Grape Orangery, where the students received their homework on the topic «Territory Management». On Friday, the group presented the teachers with a case study solution and went on a tour of the Silver Age Gardens.
Walking Tour and Assignment at Sokolniki
On May 27 and 28 the students were in Sokolniki: the program included a sightseeing tour around the Park Museum, the Big and Small Rosaries, the Lilac Garden and other important places, as well as a practical part. As the first-day assignment, the students were offered to create tub compositions on their own, after which, during the general inspection, the specialists shared the rules of flora care and analyzed the mistakes. The second day was devoted to weeding of perennials.
In addition, as part of the practical training, the students of the Maikop State Technological University visited Gorky Park, Zaryadye, Hermitage Garden, Moscow Zoo, Khodynka Field Park and Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. On May 31, Maria Dorozhkina, Curator of the Association of Parks, presented the participants with memorable diplomas certifying their practical training at Poklonnaya Hill in Victory Park.
In agreement with the rectorate of the Maikop University, the Association of Parks intends to arrange practical training for students next year.
