Association of Parks and Moscow Zoo held an educational workshop

On October 12, 2018, NPCO «Association for the Development of Urban Parks and Public Spaces» and State Autonomous Institution the Moscow Zoo held a free educational workshop on «Creation and maintenance of mini-zoos in the park».

Presentations for the audience were carried out by Svetlana Akulova, the Director of the Moscow Zoo, the Chairman of the Zoological Parks sector of the Association, and Andrey Lapshin, the Director of Sokolniki Park and the Chairman of the Association Council. Also, reports were made by experts of the Moscow Zoo: the Deputy Director of the Zoological sector Alexey Suslov, chief veterinarian Mikhail Alshinetsky, the head of scientific-methodical department sector Vladimir Frolov, an expert on environmental legislation Ninel Menshikova and the manager of children’s zoo Andrey Vdovichenkov.

The workshop was also attended by the managers of parks in Moscow, Moscow region, St. Petersburg and Russian regions. Before the event, Andrey Lapshin and the Director of the Association Denis Tsukanov presented certificates to new members of the NPCO Association of Parks, namely the State Institution of Tula region «Tula Parks», the State-financed Institution Guryevsk City Entertainment and Recreation Park in Kaliningrad region, as well as the Moscow Park Fili.
